Description:
Youth sports leagues nationwide will soon be gearing up for summer programs, and a great way to build team spirit is with this clever spirit gear project.
Organize a pre-season project event involving team and family members.
Required supplies:
- Craft Glue Dots
- 1" Glue Lines
- Foam Pennant; (you can cut your own)
- Stiff felt
- Foam sheet
- Felt in the same color of your team
- Star-shaped buttons
- Watter bottle cap
- Fine point Sharpie marker
- Scissors
Step-by-step instructions:
- From your computer, type and print out your teams name, using a nice fat font or one that matches your team. (font shown here is Acklin.). Make sure the first letter is larger than the other letters.
- Cut out the letters from the team name and trace around the letters onto the felt.
- To make the balls, trace the bottle cap onto the felt and cut out. Use your marker to create the ball stitches.
- Use Craft Glue Dots to add letters, buttons and balls to the pennant.
- To add a stripe to the visor, trace the upper rim of the visor and make the stripe 1/2" wide. Use 1" Glue Lines to adhere the stripe to the visor.
- Add the letter, ball and stars to the visor using Craft Glue Dots.
- Use the marker to add stitch lines to the edges.
- Designer note: Use Poster Glue Dots to adhere the pennant to the wall in your child's room.
