Recently my dad gave me my grandmother's bible. I'm an old softy at heart, and was moved to receive the book, which was highly revered by the retired missionary. The gold ink displaying her name, which, because of a shared birthday was my name prior to my marriage, was still intact.
However, the outer cover along the binding edge of the book had separated from the inner pages. Concerned the problem would grow and further compromise the books structural integrity, I reached for Continuous Glue Lines® to put the cover back in place. A hot melt or liquid glue would have damaged the delicate onion-skin pages.
To repair the binding edge, I applied the Continuous Glue Lines® to the inside edge and cut to the desired length. Using my finger, I burnished the clear plastic covering so the Glue Lines® transferred to the pages, removed the plastic covering, folded over the outside cover and applied pressure to create the bond.
