NEW BERLIN (WI, U.S.A) – Glue Dots International, a subsidiary of Ellsworth Adhesives Company and the manufacturer of innovative GLUE DOTS™ Adhesive Products, announced July 23rd 2007, the relocation of their production facilities from Keighley, England to East Kilbride, Scotland. The relocation to East Kilbride will serve to increase the company's production capabilities and position the company for phenomenal growth by enabling them to meet an ever-growing European demand for their products, as well as reduce their production costs by employing shared resources. Meeting a growing demand in a timely manner and reducing costs to facilitate competitive pricing are paramount to Glue Dots International's ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of their European customers.
The new facility is 1,300 sq meters (14,000 sq ft), and will accommodate production and office staff, with a dedicated 1,114 sq meters (12,000 sq ft), of production and warehouse space. Managing Director of European Operations, John Henderson commented, "The new location, which allows us to have manufacturing, logistic and IT support under one roof, will enable us to respond more quickly to the needs of our customers".
Since 2000, Glue Dots International's European production and sales facility have operated out of Keighley. While the company's production facilities are in the process of moving to Scotland, the expanding sales force will remain in Keighley but in a new, larger office facility. Henderson said, "It is our intention to develop the direct sales of GLUE DOTS™ by increasing our internal customer service levels, as well as appointing additional external sales personnel in the U.K. and throughout Europe".
The reorganization and move of Glue Dots International's European division is designed to allow for greater focus on their industrial product sales by bringing the company's U.S. sales model to the European market. "The move to the new manufacturing facility will enable us to have more production equipment and provide faster, more efficient manufacturing cells, as well as more storage to allow for faster reaction to customer demand", said Henderson.
The move to East Kilbride is in progress and the company is already running a state-of-the-art manufacturing machine designed to produce an even greater quality of GLUE DOTS™ products more efficiently and in greater volumes. Manufacturing in East Kilbride will run in parallel with the Keighley location until December 31st 2007, when operations at the Keighley facility will cease in favor of the new operations facility.
